About Baryonics Technologies
Baryonics Technologies is focused on building the core industrial infrastructure for a self-sustaining cislunar economy. Our goal is to make it possible to source, refine, transport, and shape materials entirely in space—reducing dependence on costly Earth launches and enabling long-lived assets in Earth orbit, cislunar space, and beyond.
We combine high-temperature metallurgy, electromagnetic transport, and vacuum process engineering into integrated systems that can operate autonomously in harsh, resource-constrained environments. Our long-term vision is a network of orbital and lunar foundries that supply structural metals, feedstock, and semi-finished components directly to in-space customers.
Contactless Transport Pipes
A core concept at Baryonics is contactless transport of molten metals using magnetic levitation. Traditional piping and mechanical pumps struggle in vacuum, microgravity, and high-radiation environments due to wear, seals, and contamination. Our approach replaces moving parts and physical contact with carefully controlled electromagnetic forces.
By levitating and propelling molten metal inside magnetically guided transport pipes, we aim to:
- Eliminate mechanical wear surfaces and seals in critical flow paths.
- Reduce contamination from container walls and lubricants.
- Enable precise metering and routing of metals between process stages.
- Support fully enclosed, modular “refinery lines” that can be reconfigured in orbit without major mechanical redesign.
This architecture is especially attractive for cislunar operations, where maintenance windows are limited and system reliability directly affects mission economics.
Regolith Processing and In-Space Metallurgy
Beyond transport, Baryonics is developing process chains for turning lunar and asteroid regolith into usable metals. Our focus is on methods that leverage the natural advantages of vacuum and solar flux, rather than fighting them.
Our roadmap includes:
- Molten Regolith Electrolysis (MRE) to reduce metal oxides directly to metals and oxygen without consumable reagents.
- High-temperature pyrolysis in vacuum to separate and refine volatile and refractory species using staged condensation.
- Magnetic forming and extrusion to shape metals without traditional dies or heavy mechanical presses, using electromagnetic forces to control flow and final geometry.
These processes are designed to be modular and scalable, so early pathfinder systems can evolve into larger, more capable foundries as demand grows.
Why Baryonics is a Strong Investment
In-space manufacturing is moving from concept to necessity as more assets are deployed in orbit and on the lunar surface. Baryonics targets the “picks and shovels” of this new industrial layer: the infrastructure that allows others to build, repair, and expand without depending on Earth-based supply chains.
Our approach is:
- Physics-first: grounded in proven thermodynamics, electromagnetics, and materials science, adapted to vacuum and reduced gravity.
- Incremental: architectures that can start as technology demonstrators and scale toward full cislunar foundries.
- Interoperable: designed to integrate with existing and emerging in-space logistics, power, and robotics platforms.
We believe this combination of deep technical focus and modular, scalable system design positions Baryonics to become a foundational supplier in the emerging space industrial ecosystem.
